Company — where we come from and where we are going to
Parkside as a company was officially started in 2007, but the 4 founders had been working together long before. It all began in Graz, in an office with a nice view of the nearby Volksgarten park, and that is how the name Parkside was born. Although they appointed a new, internationally experienced CEO in January 2021 to continue the Parkside success story, all four of the partners are still actively involved in running the company and preparing it both organizationally and structurally for future expansion.
One of our first clients was video2brain, a Graz-based online training company. We developed the software that was running on the video training DVDs and later on also the web platform to distribute the content online. Soon after becoming the biggest video training provider in Europe Video2brain was bought by the US market leader, Lynda.com. This is when we got the opportunity to make our first experiences across the pond. After several years of working successfully together, LinkedIn took over Lynda.com and also us as their vendor.
This acquisition enabled us to rapidly develop into a leading company for software development and UX design. Our guiding principle is to focus on the whole process, not just a single line of code or one pixel. Not only are we thinking about what’s changing in your business sector today, but also about what is going to change in the world tomorrow. Every step along the way has to serve a purpose. We work closely with our clients, combining our expertise and knowledge to find answers to the questions and challenges your business is facing.
Our workplaces — where ideas are found and put into action
Our headquarters is based in Graz, UNESCO City of Design in Austria. The 1.500 m² sleek office space is located right between the train station and the historical old town and provides lots of space to develop the digital applications of tomorrow in an inspiring atmosphere. We also have an additional office location in Vienna, next door to our colleagues from the Austrian Digital Alliance. Thanks to our work with international clients, we were already used to working remotely long before the pandemic outbreak.
