Junior DevOps Engineer (f/m/x)

Your role

As our next Junior DevOps Engineer, you will play a major role in helping Parkside make the leap from sound product design and development to superior hosting and ongoing support. The DevOps team has three main areas of responsibility: Release Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Production Support. As a member of the DevOps team, you can expect that:

  • You will be a valued member of an autonomous, agile and dedicated DevOps team
  • You will be responsible for keeping Parkside’s critical infrastructure running smoothly using modern best practices in the public cloud (primarily Azure), with infrastructure as code (primarily Terraform), and container-orchestration (primarily K8s)
  • You will setup and run production environments while provide excellent operational support in collaboration with our Development teams
  • Assist with handling incidents using modern, collaborative processes such as blameless post-mortems
  • You will cooperate closely with cross-functional teams to provide scalable solutions needed for projects  
  • You will act as a strong advocate of sharing knowledge and be a consistent participant in our Communities of Practice, including developing educational content
  • You actively identify the latest technology trends and are keen on testing them accordingly

Your profile

  • Passionate about DevOps, with experience and education in related fields being a major plus
  • A great team player. You enjoy working in a team, ask questions and accept the knowledge gap as you join
  • Some familiarity with CI/CD services (e.g. Buildkite, Azure DevOps), Docker, Kubernetes, plus the desire to learn a whole lot more about them and apply your learnings hands-on
  • Knowledge of a scripting language, i.e. Bash, Python, Golang or Ruby
  • Awareness of observability (monitoring, logging and tracing) with the eagerness to learn more and implement it
  • You are familiar with Linux servers and find your way around the Terminal
  • You are comfortable optimizing for speed and knowing when we should sweat the details vs what we can fix forward
  • You enjoy solving problems together with others and aim to continuously learn and improve
  • You don’t speak German? No big deal, English is our main language

  • Minimum monthly gross salary: € 2,800 (14 times per year, based on 38,5h/week, no all-in contract). However, we always ensure to offer a competitive salary adjusted to your qualifications and experience.
